The Artesound TestaRossa 18W is a beautifully built, hand-wired boutique amplifier that delivers exactly the kind of response you want from a low-to-medium-powered British-style valve amp: warm, touch-sensitive cleans, plenty of character and a wonderfully organic crunch when you push it.

Built on an eyelet board, the TestaRossa uses carefully selected components, custom-designed transformers and hand-selected capacitors and resistors. It is a straightforward, guitar-friendly design with one channel and separate Gain and Master controls, making it easy to move from warm, articulate cleans into rich British overdrive without needing a complicated control panel.

And despite its modest 18-watt rating, this little amp is loud.

The TestaRossa is equally at home in the studio, rehearsal room or on stage, particularly when you want a real power-amp response at volumes that make sense for modern playing.

The sound

The beauty of the TestaRossa is its simplicity.

Turn down the Gain and you get a warm, open and responsive clean. Push the Gain and the amp moves naturally into harmonically rich British crunch, with the EL84 power section adding compression and character as you dig in.

The Gain + Master arrangement also makes the amp remarkably flexible: you can find your sweet spot and then use the Master to control the overall volume.

It’s the sort of amplifier that rewards playing dynamics — cleaner when you play softly, grittier when you dig in.

Matching Casarossa 1×12 cabinet

The set includes the matching Artesound Casarossa 1×12 open-back cabinet, hand-built from pine and finished in black Tolex.

Loaded with a Celestion G12H 30W, the cabinet complements the TestaRossa beautifully, providing plenty of punch, definition and classic British speaker character.

The open-back construction keeps the overall response lively and spacious, while the 12″ Celestion gives this compact rig considerably more authority than its dimensions might suggest.

Together, the TestaRossa and Casarossa make a wonderfully compact 18-watt boutique valve rig — easy to transport, easy to use and full of character.

For US orders with a value of up to US$2,500, we ship with Postal Delivered Duty Paid (PDDP) through Swiss Post.

The applicable PDDP costs are added to the product price for US customers only. To receive the correct final price, please contact us before checkout, and we will calculate the additional costs for you.

With PDDP, we take care of the applicable import and administration costs in advance, so you won’t receive an additional PDDP charge upon delivery.
