Lemon & Ginger “rite” – Germanium Fuzzrite
Brand new – handmade in Tokyo, Japan
Two selected vintage Japanese germanium transistors
Includes original box, manual and warranty
Product Description
The Lemon & Ginger rite is a handmade fuzz pedal inspired by the rare germanium-transistor version of the legendary Mosrite Fuzzrite.
It combines a warm germanium foundation with the sharp, cutting attack that defines the classic Fuzzrite sound. The result is raw, immediate and full of vintage character: biting garage-rock chords, spluttering lead tones and wonderfully primitive psychedelic textures.
Unlike a smooth, heavily saturated Fuzz Face-style pedal, the rite has a leaner and more direct personality. Its notes arrive with a crisp leading edge, while the germanium transistors add warmth, harmonic complexity and a responsive feel beneath the fuzz.
It is a beautiful match for garage rock, surf, psychedelic music, blues-rock and any player searching for an authentic mid-1960s-style fuzz voice that does not sound like every other pedal.
Selected Vintage Germanium Transistors
The rite uses two different types of vintage Japanese germanium transistor.
Each transistor is individually measured and selected according to its electrical characteristics before being installed. This careful selection helps Eigo Matsuo achieve the desired balance of warmth, attack, gain and vintage instability.
The identifying numbers may be removed from certain transistors to protect the builder’s component selection and allow more consistent production.
Controls
- Volume: Adjusts the overall output level
- Depth: Controls the intensity and character of the fuzz
- Footswitch: Activates or bypasses the effect
- LED: Indicates when the effect is active
Lower Depth settings provide a leaner, more restrained vintage texture. Turning it up introduces a stronger, more aggressive fuzz voice with increased saturation and harmonic content.
Sound and Playing Character
The rite delivers:
- Warm but cutting germanium fuzz
- Sharp vintage attack
- Dry, raspy garage-rock rhythm tones
- Spluttering psychedelic lead sounds
- Strong definition in a band mix
- Interactive response to guitar and amplifier settings
For the most authentic results, try it into a clean or slightly breaking-up tube amplifier. Rolling back the guitar’s tone control can soften the sharpest edge, while a brighter setting produces maximum Fuzzrite bite.
Power – Important
- Standard 9V battery operation
- External 9V DC power
- Centre-positive / tip-positive polarity
- Positive-ground circuit
- Use an isolated power output
- Do not daisy-chain with conventional centre-negative pedals
The rite uses the opposite DC polarity from most modern guitar pedals.
Do not connect it directly to a standard centre-negative power output. Use a correctly wired centre-positive adapter or an appropriate polarity-reversing cable connected to an isolated 9V output.
A dedicated power supply or an isolated output such as those provided by compatible Voodoo Lab units can be used safely when correctly configured.
Power supply is not included unless specifically stated.

Warranty
Lemon & Ginger offers free repair for qualifying operational defects within six months of purchase.
Both the pedal and its original warranty card must be presented to receive complimentary warranty service.
The customer is responsible for shipping costs unless an initial defect is reported within one week of receiving the pedal, in which case the builder also covers the applicable return shipping. Coverage remains subject to the builder’s warranty conditions and inspection.
