1968 Fender Stratocaster Sunburst
Serial # 223683
Condition: Very good
Upgrades / modifications: professional refret, see description, plus 2 little saddle screws were replaced with similar correct screws, see pics.
Description:
Very nice all original condition, except; pristine refret with standard 6105 Dunlop fret wires, professionally done by luthier Enrico Crippa from Sound City – Piacenza IT
Solid alder body- the three tone Sunburst in nitrocellulose finish has faded over the years, which gives it a very nicel, kinda 50s two tone Sunburst look, some wear is visible, in particular on the bass horn, see pics.
This model includes a maple neck, stamped 22 Sep 68 B, with a rosewood fretboard, offering a smooth playing experience and a warm, rounded tone. The neck has a comfortable medium C-shaped profile, which was characteristic of Fender guitars from that period, making it easy to play, the large headstock is in perfect condition and the black Fender decal is completely clean.
The 3 ply white pickguard is equipped with three grey bottom single-coils, the pickups are controlled by a three-way selector switch, along with master volume and two tone knobs, providing a range of sonic options from sharp, twangy leads to mellow rhythms.
Stackpole pot codes read 250K 035-865 / AUD304-6624 and are dated to 24th week of 1966, the original grey bottom pickups are dated to September 30 of 1968 (9-30-68).
Totally clean and untouched interior, soldering, etc, you can still smell the lacquer, it was barely ever opened up.
The hardware includes a vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge and Fender’s iconic “F” tuners, both in chrome, adding to the guitar’s classic look and ensuring reliable tuning stability and smooth vibrato action.
Included is the original vintage 1960s Goya-Fender hard shell case with Orange Plush Interior, these cases were made in Sweden and are very hard to find, specially in such good condition, there are some fun stickers on it which gives the case a cool look too, see pics.
