History:
The 425 was part of Rickenbacker’s budget/student line, featuring a simple, elegant design. Known for its jangly, biting tone—typical of Rickenbacker’s single-coil pickups and short scale. Unlike most Rickenbackers with set-necks or neck-through design, the 425 used a bolt-on neck.
The 1967 Rickenbacker 425 is a vintage electric guitar known for its minimalist design, distinctive tonal character, and association with artists like George Harrison in his early Beatles years (though his 425 was a 1962 model). The 1967 model represents one of the later iterations of the 425 line, which originally debuted in 1958.
Description:
Very nice quiet clean condition, it was well taken care of, no major signs or issues, the Jetglo finishis is still glossy and gorgeous, the neck is in ecxellent condition and so is the headstock and the decal, the rosewood board ist perfect and plays smoothly, frets are not high but have still a good playability, this guitars is very resonant and sounds loud with no amplification already, its a lovely vintage Rickenbacker Jr model, its is sounding great at the amplified, the one toaster pickup has strong output and surprises with its warm and punchy tone.
A small hole next to the strap button was repaired long ago, you can see it under the blacklight, little chip on the back of the neck, little ding at the back of the headstock, both barely visible.
This guitar comes with a no name black vintage case with green interior, not original but it fits (i’m looking for an original case).
A rare, single-pickup classic with iconic tone and sleek design. Perfect for collectors and players alike
