Back in the 1970s, as a kid, I started listening to a certain radio show broadcast every Sunday evening. They played Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Chuck Berry and many others.

I was fascinated by the sounds coming through the speaker. Somehow, those sounds got under my skin. That was where my love for music — and especially for electric guitars — was born.

It didn't take long before I got my first guitar and started playing myself.

Years passed. Then one day I put on a vinyl record called Texas Flood.

I was blown away by the energy, the attitude and, above all, the incredible tone of Stevie Ray Vaughan.

From that moment on, I wanted to understand more about those sounds — about electric guitars, amplifiers, Stevie, the Three Kings, and all the other cats who created the music I loved.

In my early twenties, I moved into the world of show business. I eventually became the owner of a catering company working all over the world — for movies, concerts, a Formula One racing team, and many other extraordinary events.

I'm grateful for all the experiences and adventures I was lucky enough to be part of. Over the years, I also had the opportunity to work alongside many incredibly talented artists and creative people.

Being behind the scenes gave me a glimpse into a world full of creativity, passion and craftsmanship.

And whenever I was on the road, I sometimes went on my own little “guitar safaris.”

In the early 1990s, I started tracking down vintage guitars wherever I could. I met a lot of interesting people, discovered some wonderful instruments and, above all, had a hell of a lot of fun doing it.

Vintage guitars have stories.

Sometimes I look at an old guitar and imagine where it might have been.

Maybe it spent its early years in a jazz club. Maybe it played blues in a smoky bar somewhere in America. Maybe it belonged to a musician whose name we'll never know.

I love that idea.

If I could travel back in time and hear some of these guitars being played back then, I certainly would.

My passion for vintage guitars has never left me. Eventually, I decided to dedicate my time to what I love most — and Fandango Guitars was born in Lugano, Ticino.

Today, Fandango Guitars buys and sells vintage guitars, amplifiers and effect pedals with musicians, collectors and aficionados around the world.

Every instrument is carefully selected, and authenticity and quality are essential to me.

I only choose instruments and gear that I would be happy to own myself.

That's really what Fandango is about.
